Introduction to the Best Keyboards
This year, I tested over 100 keyboards. Here are my top six favorites for 2024 and 2025. They’re cheaper, better, and faster than last year’s models. Thus, I’m excited to share these picks. Each keyboard has a full review available. If you want details, check them out. Let’s dive into the best keyboards now.
Rainy 75: Best Mechanical Value
The Rainy 75 is my top mechanical pick. At $99, it’s a steal. In 2022, this would cost $400. Its aluminum case feels solid. Moreover, it has unique details like a mirror backplate. Clouds on the front add charm. Tricolored keycaps match perfectly. The gasket mount makes typing soft and bouncy. However, the on/off button hides under caps lock. This makes it tricky to use. It’s also loud, so quieter setups may need different switches. Bluetooth and 2.4G connectivity add versatility. Upgrades include a crushed glass backplate.
Kyron K2 H: Best for Gaming and Work
The Kyron K2 H is my personal favorite. It uses hall effect switches with magnets. These excel for gaming and fast typing. At $140, it’s pricey but affordable for its type. Wooden accents give a classy look. Meanwhile, the switches feel stable and consistent. It connects via Bluetooth, 2.4G, or wired. You can toggle between Mac and Windows easily. The software lets you adjust actuation and RGB settings. However, it only offers one switch option. This limits customization. Still, it’s great for office or gaming use.
Lowrey Flow Light: Best Low-Profile Option
The Lowrey Flow Light is ideal for travel. It’s ultra-lightweight with a creamy sound. The gasket mount and Palm switches create a deep tone. At $80, it’s a solid choice. The plastic case feels sturdy. A volume scroll wheel adds tactile control. Moreover, it offers Bluetooth and 2.4G connectivity. Kickstand feet adjust typing angle. However, the rubber feet may fall off. It lacks VIA support, requiring Lowrey’s software. Cream, pink, and gray colors are available. Choose 75% or 98% sizes.
Wooting AD AG: Best for Gaming Performance
The Wooting AD AG is a gaming powerhouse. Priced at $200–$270, it’s expensive. Yet, it raised €7.2 million in pre-sales. Its software offers total control. You can tweak actuation, macros, and more. Thus, it’s perfect for games like Valorant. The utility software is top-notch. A screen shows key press depth. However, it’s bulky and lacks premium sound. The layout feels unusual. For pure gaming, it’s unmatched. A strong community supports it.
Alla F75: Best Budget Pick
The Alla F75 delivers value at $70. It offers a creamy, satisfying typing experience. The plastic case feels sturdy. A knob and tricolor keycaps enhance its look. The ice blue color stands out. Moreover, the gasket mount ensures soft typing. It supports wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4G connections. However, the gasket mount is uneven. Keycap printing has minor errors. Only linear switches are available. Still, it rivals pricier keyboards.
Evo Works Evo 80: Premium Choice
The Evo Works Evo 80 costs $170. It improves on the Rainy 75’s features. Higher-quality keycaps and vibrant colors shine. The gasket mount is squishier, with a creamier sound. A multicolor backplate adds flair. VIA software simplifies customization. Moreover, it offers tri-mode wireless. A ball catch mechanism allows easy case removal. However, the on/off switch hides under caps lock. The price is steep. Still, it’s a joy to use.
